BIOS - Basic Input/Output System
All computers with a motherboard include a special chip referred
to as the BIOS or ROM (Read Only Memory) BIOS. The BIOS is firmware
that is programmed into a ROM Chip on the motherboard. The
BIOS instructs the motherboard how to load basic component hardware.
The BIOS also includes a POST test (Power On Self Test). If the test
is failed you will hear a combination of beeps that represent what
is wrong.
You will want to know your BIOS manufacturer.
