Here are some tips to help you keep your pc running at it's optimal performance.

Examples provided for Windows XP users. 

Monthly
    - Disk clean up (start, run..., cleanmgr, OK,

then check which files you want to remove

    - Scan disk (start, run..., chkdsk, OK)

   - Defrag hard drive (start, run...,, dfrg.msc, OK,

 then click on Defragment)

Yearly
    - Re-install Operating System
    - Open unit and clean out dust
